Our first project's partner organization is the Saratoga Center for the Family, and their "Power of Hope" Virtual Celebration and Tasting is just over a week away, on May 20th, so I'd better get myself in gear! I'm working on a large hat-like fascinator in blues and white with a wide brim for this event. The cool colors and sloped crown make for a nice spring/summer feel so it will be perfect for those Saratoga luncheons or a day at the races! It may have a couple of flowers with crystal centers and veiling, but I'm still undecided on these just now. (With COVID19 restrictions finally easing, it's definitely time to think about getting out and about again). The fascinator will be set on a headband, with a hair clip or two, so to will be easy to wear, and will stay put without creating hat-hair.
This is a one-of-a-kind couture piece of wearable art, created just for this event. I am adding a couple of progress photos to this post, and the next post will show the finished piece, along with bidding and event info. I'm hoping my small addition to this event will help the families of the Saratoga area, and so ask everyone to be generous and bid in a big way.
